Site realities
Mine sites break the usual IT assumptions.

- Pits, shafts and ridgelines block coverage, so systems have to keep working without a connection and catch up when it returns.
- Shutdowns set the calendar.
- Changes land in planned windows, never on a Tuesday afternoon in the middle of production.
- Old and new equipment run side by side.
- Machines that are 20 years old sit next to new sensors and software, and all of it has to keep working.
- Safety comes first.
